Mallard Pond Lodge
Henry Gray Hurricane Lake WMA is a 17,000 acre sportsman's play ground featuring 11 lakes, giant hardwood timber, trophy deer hunting and in the winter months is heavily used by duck hunters looking to enjoy the most sought after sight in duck hunting...mallards descending through the limbs of the flooded timber. Inside its boundaries are only a handful of private inholdings allowing a few lucky people a very special opportunity to enjoy all it has to offer.
Mallard Pond Lodge is one of the few and the nicest of the bunch. It sits on the banks of the Little Red River, has a private launch to the river and all utilities. Access is via Mallard Pond road...when you're nearly to the lake, there is a locked gate on the left that secures the road leading to the lodge.
The lodge itself is built up on metal frame and blocks and this provides a huge storage area. Inside, well, you couldn't draw one up more fitting than this place. The enclosed porch is heated and wrapped in windows offering a beautiful view of the river, deck and fire pit area. The living space is like stepping into a small Bass Pro Shop complete with rock fireplace, bark lined walls in the dining area, sassafras on the stairways and pecky wood cabinets.
The bedrooms have direct access to the full bathrooms and in addition to that there is a loft with several beds overlooking the greatroom. It's ready to accommodate your crew in style and comfort. It can be purchased furnished with the exception of a few items.
