Wolverton Mountain Tract
Located south of Clinton and just west of Formosa lies the 185 acre m/l Wolverton Mountain tract. The county road access is good and leads into the property from the south. Take a look at the topo map and you'll find interesting elevation features that really make the place fun and easy to hunt. The top has been cleared but grown back in a mix of thick bedding vegetation that surrounds a pond. On the north side of this clearing facing south is a large box stand that resembles a duck blind...plenty of room to hunt with family or friends as you observe the clearing, pond and woodline edges.
A healthy hardwood stand frames the clearing and occupies the hillsides and draws where the deer bed and feed. As we inspected the property, it didn't take long to see deer and locate several key routes they use coming in and out of the woods. Deer and turkey enthusiasts will not be disappointed. This place has all the right bones to develop the existing habitat into a real showpiece for wildlife.
If a cabin or residence is on your mind, there are several great spots that would provide both a view of the wildlife and the landscape to the north.
